Annah Watkinson (the athlete) was charged with:
- A violation of Article 2.1 of the SAIDS and WADA Anti-Doping Rules due to the presence of a Prohibited Substance (Mestanolone), and
- A violation of Article 2.2 of the aforesaid Rules due to the use of such Prohibited Substance.
On 21 November 2023 the Independent Anti-Doping Hearing Panel determined the following:
- An Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) by the athlete has been established.
- The ADRV has been intentional.
- The athlete must serve a period of Ineligibility of 4 (four) years, to expire on 10 January 2026.
- The athlete is not permitted to participate in any capacity in a competitive activity hosted by TSA or Ironman South Africa during the period of Ineligibility.
- The athlete’s results at the Ironman competition of 21 November 2021 are set aside.
